Early fall in Colorado is pure magic — the soft golden light, the gentle breeze, and just the right hint of changing leaves. Mt. Falcon West is one of my favorite locations for family sessions this time of year, and this sweet milestone session was the perfect reminder of why.

A Dreamy Early Fall Afternoon at Mt. Falcon West
Mt. Falcon West offers so much of what makes Colorado… Colorado. Expansive foothill views, soft meadow grasses, and those signature pines that glow at sunset. In early fall, the colors aren’t fully changed yet, but you get a gorgeous blend of warm neutrals and soft greens that photograph beautifully — especially for families wanting natural, timeless portraits.
This little one explored the trails, held onto Mom and Dad’s hands as he practiced his confident little steps, and giggled every time the wind rustled through the tall grass. At one year old, everything is new and exciting, and sessions like this are all about documenting those honest in-between moments.
