It’s always so exciting when an out of state couple chooses to work with me for their wedding.   I was thrilled when Haley reached out to me about photographing her Colorado destination in Estes Park wedding for the fall of 2020.  I can only imagine how scary that must be- calling all these vendors, complete strangers and trusting that they will be there for them on their day.  I feel that the engagement session is such a crucial part of the wedding planning process. Aside from it being a super fun part of your engagement, it helps for us to get to know each other a little better.  You will get to know me and be able to trust that I will be there on your wedding day and I am a professional.   You will learn my posing, so you know a little bit of what to expect and it lets everyone loosen up a bit so you will be so comfortable around me for 8+ hours on your wedding day!  Since we never did an in person consult (being that they live near Chicago) I went up for the day, toured the venue so we can have a game plan for the day & followed with a two part engagement session.

Haley started the day getting all glammed up by Estes Park Bridal Co . who will be doing her wedding hair a makeup- perfect timing to kill two birds with one stone ; do your wedding hair and makeup trail & get look beautiful for your engagement photos!   From there we did our venue tour, found a game plan for portraits & began our session.  We started a Mary’s Lake for some epic views with their casual outfits before we headed into Rocky Mountain National Park.   It doesn’t matter how many years I’ve lived here.  Those views still always take my breath away.   Bear Lake is is one of my fav spots if you want some magical photos.  The sunset is perfect for that golden glow behind the trees with a large frozen lake to play on (or play in- in the summer).  Unlike Dream Lake or Emerald Lake (some of my other favorites) there isn’t a hike to get there which is typically better for the cooler months to make it a little more enjoyable.   If you are going to the summer, when it’s not 5 degrees outside it is most defiantly worth the hike!

Take a view of this magical session! These views come close to the magic that they share! Can’t wait for their November wedding.

Cheers!

Crystal
