If you didn’t know, the winter months here in Colorado is also known as engagement season! Many of my couples that get married in the summer months, had gotten engaged over the winter months! The holidays are a super popular time of year to get engaged. That means my winter schedule is full of booking amazing summer couples and tons of engagement sessions. (Rain or shine)
With that said, here in Colorado the weather can be very unpredictable in the winter! I’m talking it can be 60 degrees and sunshine or 20 degrees and snow. Ya just never know! Sam & Jason’s snowy engagement session was done in January, on a day we got a snow storm- only the 2nd one of the this winter season! What are the chances. I always say just, go with it- I’ve shot in snow, fog, wind, rain. Mother nature can be highly unpredictable. My professional recommendation- just got with it! Your images can end up very unique.
We chose not to schedule on a snowy day. As Jason loves trains, we decided to shoot their engagement session at The Golden Train Museum in Golden, Colorado. Being that it was a snowy day- we had the whole place to our selves! On a warm summer day, this place would have been packed which would have meant we were fighting for shots. It ended up working out perfectly. The falling snow was a perfect touch. Yes, we were a little cold. Thankfully, my sweet bride Samantha showed up with hot coffee for us all to stay warm. Have I mentioned how my #crystaldawnbrides are just the sweetest human beings, EVER?
Enjoy a few highlights from our time together, I am know counting down the days, hours and minutes until their September fall wedding in Grand Lake (near Winter Park) later this year.
